10/20/2002 Glenn Brown

Our most gracious heavenly Father, Each week this bread of communion is a reminder that in Jesus Christ you care and that you are there with us in all of life's struggles. It is so easy to say that this bread is emblematic of your son's broken body. Let us clear our minds of all outside thoughts and focus for just a few seconds as to what it must have been like for the reincarnated one, as he experienced the crown of thorns, the nails piercing his hand and feet, and the spear thrust into his side.

Help us to realize that this bread symbolizes the way of love and sacrifice.

As we continue our lives, help us to follow Christ's example and to walk daily in meekness and humility.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

9/29/02 Blake Robinson

Gracious God,

In the name of Jesus.

Amen.

Our Father, as we gather at our Lord's table, may we allow our thoughts to drift back across the ages to that Last Supper in the Upper Room when our Savior first asked that we drink this cup in memory of him. Although this invitation was first extended centuries ago, we realize that it remains so relevant in our lives today. Help us, Father, to better understand and appreciate that relevance. We ask this in his name. Amen.

9/22/02 Blake Robinson

9/8/2002 Prayer Remember September 11 by Terry Trimble

Lord, We remember the worst humanity had to offer during the attacks last September 11; we watched horrified as our world seemingly fell apart. But then through the clouds of chaos and the dust we saw the spirit of America shine like a new dawn.

We remember with renewed appreciation the actions of our disaster and emergency personnel, our government leaders, our firefighters and police.

We remember the contributions and all the volunteers.

We remember how important this country is for us; the beliefs and values that are the basis of our freedom.

We remember and humbly give thanks for our life, our friends, our family and our church.

Let us remember to pass on to the next generation examples of faith, unity, willingness to help others, love, leadership, patriotism, and resilience.

For these values are more than ideas to us; they are the best that humanity has to offer. For all our blessings, Lord, we give thanks in Jesus name. Amen.

9/8/2002 Blake Robinson

Gracious God, As we partake of this cup of sacrifice, we remember the price that was paid for our salvation. We give thanks for the willingness of Jesus to suffer and die that we may have eternal life.

Now hear our prayers of rededication as we seek a closer walk with him. Make your presence known as we seek to honor and serve in the week ahead.

In the name of Christ. Amen.

9/8/2002 Charlotte Mann

Lord, we come to your table confessing our sins and our shortcomings, and ask your forgiveness. It is only by Your grace and invitation that we break this bread and share this time of communion. Help each of us realize that you are with us at this time. Father, as we ask you to forgive us our debts, we also ask for Your help in forgiving our debtors. During the coming week, may this bread serve as a reminder that this meal was instituted by your love for us. Amen.

8/18/2002 Thelmer McClanahan

Lord, in your wisdom and love, You have given us the living bread of Jesus Christ, the bread that gives eternal life. As we eat this physical bread this morning, help us realize that our true bread, our true source of life, is the living presence of Jesus Christ. We pray that it will be your will to guide us with your spirit today, and during the coming week. Amen.

8/11/2002 Thelmer McClanahan

The bread is broken, and once again we are guests at your table, Lord. It is here that we feel and taste the bread in our mouths, and realize what great love you have for us. As we enjoy the hospitality of your table, help us to cherish this time of communion, and bless each of us as we attempt to live for you and in your Spirit during the week ahead. Amen.

8/4/02 Thelmer McClanaham

Lord, we come to your table confessing our sins and shortcomings, and ask your forgiveness. As in Jesus you fed the multitudes with a bread beyond price, so we come to you now – hungry, asking for the bread of inner peace, the bread of strength, courage, and hope that we may live in a manner pleasing to you which is a life of gentleness, patience, love, and service. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Heavenly Father when your spirits are low your spirit gives us encouragement. When we hunger for your presence you're always ready to fill that need, and for this we give you thanks.

As we raise this cup, help us recall our Savior's last meal and the love he had for each of us. Father, we drink this cup as one, bound together in love by your Spirit.

6/23/02 Terry Trimble

We give thanks Lord for your presence. As we break the bread, we remember the power you have to transform lives through Jesus Christ. Help us to have the faith to give up our old, selfish, self-righteous ways of life, and to live in the power of new life that only you can give. In Jesus Name.

6/23/02

Lord, We meet at your table to offer thanks for the many blessings we have received. As we break the bread, we are reminded of the extent of your life for us through the sacrifice of your son.

We confess Lord, that we are sinners. Help us realize that we must quit blaming others for our troubles and problems; that we must recognize and turn away from our sins in order to experience the joy of life you offer to us.

In Jesus name.

6/9/02 Terry Trimble

As we come before your table Lord, we sing praises to your name and offer our thanks for all you provide for us. As we lift the cup, Lord, we again are amazed at your love for us.
